New technologies from Konstancin”

Rzeczpospolita, daily newspaper issued for the first time in 1920, with an edition around 100 000, announced the winner of “Orzeł Innowacji” [The Eagle of Innovation]. Members of the jury, “Orzeł Innowacji – startup” [the Eagle Innovation - Start-Up!] bestowed the title to GeniCore – the most promising start-up in Poland.

 

The jury was searching for the most promising young company with an innovative business idea and GeniCore, the technology company from Konstancin-Jeziorna, won the latest edition of “Orzeł Innowacji – startup” [the Eagle Innovation - Start-Up!].

 

Competition was very fierce. The variety of projects that were presented justifies the fact that Poland can be proud of the way in which indigenous start-ups are developed.” - says Marcin Kozlowski, global manager at Business Link, a member of the jury of “Orzeł Innowacji – startup” [the Eagle Innovation - Start-Up!].

 

GeniCore – the most promising start-up in Poland.

The winner, GeniCore is a technology company that specializes in innovative sintering methods of composite materials and has the ambition to become a world leader in this area. The main GeniCore’s products are innovative PPC device, used for the sintering of powder materials, and innovative composite DEC (diamond enhanced cemented carbide). In both of these products GeniCore sees high potential for further development, related to, among others, the development of innovative composite applications using DEC.

 

GeniCore’s technologies of powder metallurgy are based on GeniCore’s own patent pending inventions. Their innovative solutions find application in many various industries. Moreover, GeniCore already has its customers and in effect, they generate revenue of millions of PLN. Project implemented by the company has a chance to conquer the sector with the value amounting to tens of billions of Euros.

 

The high level of Polish start-ups

The previous edition also met with great interest of entrepreneurs. It took place in September 2014 and the title was awarded to the most innovative Polish company CD Projekt, producer of the game "The Witcher." Maciej Balsewicz, CFO of EasyPack and member of the jury says that the level of candidates; who competed for the grand prize, which is an advertising campaign in such newspapers as "Rzeczpospolita" and "Parkiet" – daily newspapers, "Bloomberg Businessweek Poland" – magazine and "Success" – monthly newspaper; and a training package worth 5 thousand PLN; was very high.

 

According to § 4 Prize Competition of the Rules of the competition "Eagle innovation - Start Up!" (http://other.rp.pl/orzelinnowacje/regulamin.html) the advertising campaign in the titles of the Gremi Business Communication is worth 250 000 PLN.

 

The jury was represented by Bozena Lublinska-Kasprzak, President of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, Filip Thon, CEO of RWE Poland, prof. Piotr Moncarz, co-founder of the US-Polish Trade Council and founder of the US-Poland Innovation Hub; as well as Andrew Glinski, a member of the Management Board of Bank Millennium and Krzysztof Wieczorek, the proxy of the Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology on engineering and projects financing.
